re:

The club president, all protocol observed. As you all know the 'pecking order' has become immensely critical in our beloved country and that is the reason iam following protocol.Anyway that is besides the point and the objective of this post is to articulate some issues. Please be my guests as I explain these issues and make sure you read them.
Firstly, Iam so sorry for not being an active contributor to this lovely blog. Secondly, 'the balance score card'.Iam confident that the likes of 'village boy' were completely astonished when i uttered the words 'balance score card', worry not village boy, because I understand you my brother from another mother and that is why I am here, to break it down for you bit by bit.
A balanced scorecard is a strategic planning and management system that is used extensively in business and industry, government, and nonprofit organizations worldwide to align business activities to the vision and strategy of the organization, improve internal and external communications, and monitor organization performance against strategic goals.
A typical balance score card has for perspectives. The grouping of performance measures in general categories (perspectives) is seen to aid in the gathering and selection of the appropriate performance measures for the enterprise. The perspectives are:
1.Financial perspective
2.Customer perspective
3.Internal process perspective
4.Learning and growth perspective.
Our club has achieved many milestones, but I subscribe to the opinion that we do not have effective performance appraisal and feed back mechanisms. However, that is about to become history my brothers and sisters in Christ, the balance score that I will launch on the 21 day of the 2th month 2008, will be the first step towards establishing performance appraisal and feedback guidelines.
Lastly, the task of producing a balance score card isnt a sole activity, it requires a team approach and I believe we are a team.I am good by myself but we are force when we are together. So get typing and contribute.I dare you not to be left out.

Victor
Langata.

Let me take this opportunity to bombard you with the following astute words.
"Wisdom is knowing what path to take next...Integrity is taking it. Day by Day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny...it is the light that guides your way".

On Friday, 14th March, 2008, Rotaract worldwide turns 40. As Nairobi Rotaract clubs, we'll be planting 40 trees at the refurbished Machakos bus station on the material Friday. Magazine for Rotaract JKUAT

Magazine for Rotaract JKUAT

hi guys,
i hope almost all of you attended the DGs address at hilton. if you werent there you really missed alot. The Rotaract President for JKUAT invited rotaractors to send articles for a magazine that they are working on.

eish bana

this is admirable. its sad that sometimes we may fail to carry it on into our real lives. we can only hope that when the time comes to "be" a rotaractor, we will all be willing to step up to the plate and accept the challenges that we may face.

Rotaract Goals

  1. To develop professional and leadership skills.
  2. To emphasize respect for the rights of others, and to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all useful occupations.
  3. To provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world.
  4. To provide opportunities for working in cooperation with sponsoring Rotary clubs.
  5. To motivate young people for eventual membership in Rotary.

Greatness From Community service

Lets see how best we can burn the boxes and think beyond our mindsthey say no one can become what they have never conceived in their mindsThe things we do in Rotaract are the stories we write in our livesThey form the people that will change the plannet,by doing what they should be doing.
Being in Rotaract shapes you as a person as you determine to help others.Rotaract is a vehicle,an instrument that allows you and me to to enliven,to re-create the globe. It most importanly shape our lives, our outlook, our skills, our atttudes!Ask me how?
Entry into Harvard Masters Business school requires a demostration of leadership and potential,VISION BEYOND SELFGetting a job at the Big four, the Blue Chip Companies requires one to demonstrate potential in extra-curricular activitiesStarting a company, require people skills, project mangement that are acquired in Rotaract daily activities.
Picking skills like Communication,Working with teams,is required for those who begin their ennterprises and look for jobs!
Rotary helps us reach out, solve our world problems,in the best way we think, they should be doneIt gives us the freedom,to be the agent of change we want to beIt makes us more accountable to our time, our duty and no Rotaractor is therefore found complaining, they are being what the want to be!
They are creating the bridges that allow others to cross, instead of cursing our Area MP's it most importantly gives You the chance to do what you want to do.
if you love marketing, then now is when you can prove it to yourself,by doing something for the club(design posters, sell tickets, find out what memebers love)if you have a voice of stage(karaoke was a fun way to sing).
if you wanna present or talk people into someting good, the rotaract is challenging you to do thatif you want to show love, come along, lets meet people, lets meet the kids who are disabled, lets visit those in prison.
if you wanna write, write to the monthly newsletter if you wanna lead, then come up with an idea,we wil have you steer it and grow it to wahat you want it beif you want to make contacts, meet the biz community, then we are geting dinners, functions for that.
if you just wanna have fun,we are having parties, team building activities for youif you wanna travel, next year we could be visiting Mbarara in UGANDAif you want guys with ideas, guys whao are moved by big things,we are giving you the forum
THE SKY IS THE POSSIBILITYITS JUST THE BEGININGROTARACT IS SENDING THAT SKY TO YOUBY ASKING YOU TO MAKE A CHANGE BY BEING A COMMITED AND INNOVATIVE MEMBER

Club due's

Hey Rotaractors.....
I know times are bad to be suggesting this but someone has to do it...I think its time to start paying our club dues. Our venue has been prepaid for 6 months but we've got to start building our reserves (savings) coz soon we will have to pay for it ourselves. While not forgetting our bash in which we always hassle a lot for cash. I think its time we aimed for financial independence even in our club......

Cheerz.
